A few of the places I guide most often. Bookings run through Dagjeindenatuur — hoping to add excursions abroad, and eventually some of my own, over time.
Lauwersmeer
via DagjeindenatuurLauwersmeer, my favourite place in the Netherlands to watch birds. There's always something to see, be it the Bewick's and Whooper Swans in winter, or the enormous amounts of Sandpipers in summer, or the migration in spring and autumn.. It's my favourite place year round, and for sure something I'd recommend to anyone that is or is not into birds!

Whiskered Tern
Black Kite
Black-tailed Godwit & Marsh Harrier
Mostly Bar-tailed Godwits
Veluwemeer
via DagjeindenatuurVeluwemeer, maybe even more so my favourite in winter. The large number of wintering Bewick's Swans, accompanied by Mute & Whooper Swans, a plethora of duck species and so on, is a must see for every nature enthusiast. Not to mention the beautiful winter landscape that often surrounds them. A place that should be very high on everyone's list!

Eurasian Bittern
Barnacle Geese
Sallandse Heuvelrug
via DagjeindenatuurThe Sallandse Heuvelrug is basically my backyard. I've been coming to this nature reserve for as long as I can remember, and have many great experiences there. It's the only place left in the Netherlands with Black grouse, and is also home to other beautiful species like Great grey shrike, Hen harrier and Stonechat. A great place with beautiful heather and forests!
